Clifton Lifesaving’s 2024–2025 Patrol, Education and Development Report

At Clifton Surf Lifesaving Club (CSLC), our mission is clear:

To serve communities through the world-class delivery of water safety, drowning prevention and lifesaving sport programmes by developing servant leaders whose purpose is to grow and develop others.

Each season, we strive to:

  • Maintain zero preventable drownings
  • Expand our reach beyond 4th Beach
  • Provide accessible water safety education
  • Create safe and engaging learning environments
  • Strengthen Cape Town’s resilience to drowning

This commitment comes to life in our 2024–2025 Patrol, Education and Development Report, now in its third year. This year’s report has evolved to showcase not only our operational achievements but also our growing community engagement and development initiatives. These results underline our commitment to building pathways for individuals to grow their skills and leadership in lifesaving.

Community and Partnerships at the Heart

This report celebrates the many people and partners who share our purpose. It features:

  • A foreword by Dhaya Sewduth, President of Lifesaving South Africa
  • A letter from Christine Kennedy, Chairperson of Lifesaving Cape Town
  • Stories of education and development initiatives with organisations like Macassar Surf Lifesaving Club, Canada’s Women’s 7s Rugby Team, Camps Bay Scouts and Junior Medics
  • Strong collaborations with community partners who share the same goals like the NSRI, Clifton CID, and the City of Cape Town
  • Reflections from our valued sponsors—Velocity Trade, PKF, and DHL—who help make this work possible

Together, these contributions create a holistic, community-driven movement that reaches beyond the sand and surf.
